One was a viable but unfavored deck, and two never saw play until now. Three of the new tier one decks are all from much lower tiers. Which decks have risen to take the place of our fallen kings? Well, this is the strange part. Many of the decks that knocked them out of tier one are also aggressive decks, which shows us that while they’re still strong, both of them are now outclassed within their specialty. Pirate Warrior and Murloc Paladin are still viable, and rank towards the top of tier two, but they can’t compete with the decks they used to steamroll. They both fell out of tier one, pushed out by the new decks gunning for a place in the spotlight. Pirate Warrior and Murloc Paladin did not fare as well. But without being able to ramp into more ramp into more ramp as easily, it’s definitely taken a hit. The horror! The scandal! Obviously, Jade Druid is still a strong deck. It has even been dethroned from its place at the top of the pile, falling to second or third best deck in the meta. Now it’s just really good, like the rest of us. It’s no longer perfect in every way, shape, and form. The only one of the three decks with nerfed cards to remain in tier one post-9.1 is Jade Druid. The other deck in tier one before the patch dropped was Highlander Priest, although it didn’t have any of the nerfed cards in it. Jade Druid, Token Druid, Murloc Paladin, and Pirate Warrior were some of the best decks before 9.1 went live. Nerfed Decks in Patch 9.1īefore the patch dropped, there were three decks in tier one that included one or more of the nerfed cards. All of the top decks have remained strong, but I wasn’t expecting decks to come out of nowhere to join tier one. When I discussed the patch, I figured that the changes would hurt the top decks, but probably wouldn’t remove them. Even if not, the expansion should provide a massive meta shake-up, something I think most of us need since this expansion had some long periods of really unfun gameplay patterns and class dominating (first Rogue and then Death Knight).īelow, you will find a full list of the Legend decks from last week, sorted by the highest placement.Hearthstone’s Patch 9.1.0 nerfed a variety of cards, including Innervate, Spreading Plague, Hex, Fiery War Axe, and Murloc Warleader. That would be interesting and I hope it happens again. If that is the case, we’ll have this extra, short meta with the new Core Set but old expansions. There’s a chance that those Core Set changes will drop a week or so before actual expansion, alongside Patch 26.0. Or maybe until the next rotation – remember that Festival of Legends comes with Standard rotation, including changes to the Core Set. And since it’s actually quite healthy and has no real standout decks that are completely overpowered, I think that’s the meta we’ll be in until the next expansion. Those didn’t exactly turn the meta upside down, but it’s still a strong effect.īecause of that, the meta is mostly the same as it was a week ago. Similarly, you can play a Reno (singleton) deck, but add a few strong duplicates to E.T.C.’s band. in an even deck, but add odd-cost cards to it. It’s more interesting in Wild, because it lets players bypass some of the deck building restrictions. And it actually made a bigger difference in Wild than Standard, which is rare for a single card release. That’s why, despite being played in around 25% of the decks in Standard and almost 30% in the Wild, I wouldn’t exactly say that it impacted the meta a lot. It’s mostly a flexible way to add tech cards to your deck, it doesn’t change the basic way the decks are built or played for the most part. However, unlike something like Prince Renathal, it doesn’t change the way the game is played that much. It sees a decent amount of play in both formats. This time it’s E.T.C., Band Manager, and it’s a pretty good one. But it just so happens that Patch 25.6 also gives us the free set Legendary. Of course, a new expansion’s announcement usually has no impact on the current meta. A reveal season has just started, so far we’ve seen all of the Neutral cards and a few class ones. While we don’t have an official release date yet (just “April 2023”), it’s quite likely that it will drop on April 11. A new expansion was just announced – Festival of Legends.
